Methods

  • Paste quoted text from the Methods section of the article on the next line. Do not include quotation marks or a bullet mark:

The current study compared reward anticipation activity assessed with the MID task at baseline and 12-month follow-up in adult and adolescent PWUC and controls.

  • Write your translation on the next line:

The researchers measured how the brain responds when people expect rewards. They tested adults and adolescent for the period of 12 months.

Introduction

  • Paste quoted text from the Introduction of the article on the next line. Do not include quotation marks:

This study presents the first longitudinal fMRI investigation directly comparing adolescent and adult PWUC with age-matched controls on reward anticipation using the MID task.

  • Write your translation on the next line:

This was the first study to measure both teenagers and adults over time, comparing how the brain responds to the rewards.

Results

  • Paste quoted text from the Results section in the article on the next line. Do not include quotation marks:

User-Group effects were driven by decreased activity from baseline to follow-up in PWUC relative to controls, whereas Age-Group effects were driven by increased activity from baseline to follow-up in adolescents relative to adults.

  • Write your translation on the next line:

Cannabis users brain activity decreases related to expecting rewards over time compared to non – cannabis users. Study also found age has a effect in brain – teenagers shows increased activity over time compared to adults.

Discussion

  • Paste quoted text from the Discussion section of the article on the next line. Do not include quotation marks:

Our results suggest that chronic cannabis use is associated with blunted reward anticipation responses in key regions of the brain’s reward system.

  • Write your translation on the next line:

Findings suggest that the regular cannabis use reduces the brain response as compared to the normal or non – cannabis persons brain response towards the reward.

Future Directions

Future studies should use a large group of participants and should include more age range. also, can test behaviour changes and mental health effects due to cannabis use.

Difficult Material

The most challenging part was to understand statistics; terminology used in tables and what the p – value means. I understand the main conclusion, but I like more explanation which can me every one to under about the statistical results.
