I think studies like this one should be repeated every few years to see whether the results change over time. As more countries, adopt environmentally friendly practices and become more aware of the effects of chemicals, it would be interesting to see if these changes lead to lower exposure and better health outcomes in pregnant women and children.

The results section is hard to read/follow because its quite dense and full of technical terms.I understand that exposure to heavy metals does affect children however, the researchers combined the results from different studies which makes it hard to tell how consistent the results really are.
